MDR3 Series Pressure Switches
The MDR3 Series Combination Pressure Switch with
Integral Overload Relay offers a simple, straight forward way of
directly controlling the compressor or pump motor and providing
overload motor protection, without the need of a separate motor
starter. This Patented Pressure Switch offers an industry first - an
Integral Thermal Overload which has been incorporated into the
pressure switch to prevent an overloaded condition from burning out
the compressor or pump motor. The unique combination of the reliable
Advance Controls Pressure Switch and an integral thermal overload
allows the MDR3 to replace old fashioned separate pressure switch /
starter combinations. It is UL Listed (UL 508) to start and stop a
single or three phase compressor / pump motor directly across the
line. No other device or method of controlling a compressor pump motor
offers the flexibility, cost savings, compact size and value as does
the MDR3 Series Combination Pressure Switch with Integral Overload
Relay.
MDR21 Series Pressure Switches
Advance Controls' MDR21 Series Switches provides for automatic
operation of pumps and compressors. The switch is activated by the
required tank pressure. This 2 pole switch is suitable to operate a 1
phase motor at the allowable ratings. The switch will control larger 1
phase and all 3 phase motors by using an ACI motor starter.

Industrial Control–Pushbuttons
The Advance Controls, Inc. Pushbuttons are heavy duty
industrial control devices available with a wide range of Illuminated
and Non-Illuminated Operators. The buttons are fully gasketed for type
4X (IP65) protection. This is to prevent the entrance of water, oil,
and dirt past the operator into the enclosure. The modular
construction makes "on the job" assembly both fast and simple. The
contact blocks are "stackable", allowing many combinations of control
layouts.

Inverter Bypass Saftey Switch

Inverter Bypass Saftey Switch
Inverters (Variable Frequency Drives or VFD.s) provide
an economical means of regulating the speed and performance of motors.
Inverters have gained a prominent place in today.s industrial and
commercial arena. But as dependable as modern inverters are, they
still malfunction and cease operation, often at the worst possible
moment. For this reason, several methods of isolating the inverter
have been developed. Until now these methods involved expensive and
unreliable contactors, relays, and timers. Advance Controls, Inc.'s
Patented IBYSS ® (Inverter Bypass Safety Switch) eliminates all of
these unreliable methods of removing the power from the inverter
drive.

Photoelectric Sensors

Photoelectric Sensors
Photoelectric Proximity Sensors (Photoelectrics) can be
divided into five groups: Through-Beam, Retro-Reflective, Diffuse,
Convergent and Fiber-Optic. Photoelectrics are used to detect various
materials at long ranges by non-contact sensing using a beam of light.
Photoelectrics detect either the presence or absence of light and use
this information to change the state of the output transistor. Since
Photoelectrics detect light, they must be able to .see. the target in
order to operate properly.
Photoelectric Sensors are solid state devices that use an output
transistor to change the output state of the sensor. They are suitable
to operate control components such as relays and contactors. These
sensors are not suitable to directly operate high power items such as
motors. As with all solid state devices, Photoelectric Sensors have a
leakage current which is used to power the sensor. This leakage
current must be taken into account when connecting other devices to
the sensor.

Proximity Sensors [Back To Top] |
|
Proximity Sensors
Inductive Proximity Sensors utilize an L/C resonant
oscillator which generates a high frequency alternating
electromagnetic field with the aid of a coil located in the open pot
core. This field emerges from the active face of the switch. When an
electrically conductive material (a steel plate for example) moves
onto the electromagnetic field, an eddy current is induced. The eddy
current extracts energy from the L/C resonant circuit in the sensor
which produces a reduction in the oscillation amplitude. The amplitude
reduction is converted by the associated electronic circuitry into a
clear electronic signal, and changes the state of the sensor output.
When the electrically conductive material is removed from the
alternating field, the oscillation amplitude increases, and through
the electronic circuitry, restores the switch to the original
unswitched state.

Safety Switches

Safety Switches
The Advance Controls, Inc. Key Operated Safety Switches
are designed to provide a positive means of turning the control power
in the equipment "Off" should an access panel, door, guard, etc. be
opened during operation. Unlike a simple limit or reed type switch,
the Key Operated Safety Switch requires a special design stainless
steel key to operate the switch. By requiring this special key, the
switch cannot be easily defeated, tied down, or bypassed by using
simple hand tools. Removing the special key from the switch positively
switches the safety contacts. The key can be inserted into the front
or top of the switch head which can be rotated in 4 - 90 degree steps,
allowing entrance from any one of 8 different positions. This allows
the switch to be mounted in a variety of different configurations.
These features make the Key Operated Safety Switch an acceptable
recognized safety switch for worldwide applications.

Terminal Blocks
Positive Terminal Wire Clamping
All ACI K Series Terminal Blocks incorporate captive
screws with self lifting terminal clamps. The terminal clamp features
a wire guard to prevent the wire from being inserted below the
terminal clamp. The self lifting pressure plates contain serrations to
insure positive clamping of either stranded or solid wire. This design
assures a tight, positive connection.
Insulated Housings
ACI K Series Terminal Block housings are molded of UL
recognized self-extinguishing polyamide 6.6. The housing material has
a UL recognized 94 VO rating, and has a working temperature limit from
-30 to +110 degrees C.
Universal Mounting
All ACI K Series Terminal Blocks are designed to mount
on standard DIN Rail. ACI Mini Terminal Blocks mount on DIN 46277/2
"HAT" type rail. All other ACI Terminal Blocks mount on DIN 46277/3
"HAT" type and DIN 46277/1 "G" type rail.
Accessories
ACI Terminal Blocks have a wide range of accessories
available to meet a variety of specific application requirements.
