The various dayform shapes of
our Flood and Area lighting
fixtures may be distinctly
different, but they share Ruud
Lighting dependability and
value. Ruud Lighting has the
right luminaire and optical
system for the job, whether the
project calls for:
• Area Lighting
• General Floodlighting
• Safety and Security Lighting
Micro Flood
We’ve expanded our popular
Micro Flood (NS Series)
product line to now include
lamp choices through 400 watt.
A simplified, low-cost housing
and lens-frame design
incorporates the versatility of
three optical choices in
standard flood, cutoff flood or
wide flood.
Square Flood and Area
Our Square Flood and Area line
offers fixtures with optical
systems designed to meet
specific lighting-application
needs. These computer-
designed systems give
optimum performance.
Wedge Light
The distinctive, streamlined
style of the Wedge Light,
available in two optical
systems, provides outstanding
performance.
Square Dome Area Lights
These area lights feature a
unique style and dayform
appearance. The luminaires
include a choice of three high-
performance optical systems
that feature the benefits of
optimized vertical pulse start
lamps for greatest efficacy and
life.
Rectangular Flood
and Area
Available with four Flood and
two Area optical systems, the
Rectangular Series offers a
functional alternative for low-
profile sign, flagpole and
general illumination
applications.

General Floodlight Optics
Standard Floodlight
FS Series (Page 115)
The FS Series is typically installed with a 45° to 60° tilt above horizontal to provide a
wide coverage of illumination. The FS Series is ideal for signs, large open areas and
facade applications.
Narrow Beam Cutoff Floodlight
CN Series (Page 117)
The specular aluminum reflector of the CN Series provides narrow vertical and wide
horizontal distribution. Recommended tilt of this fixture is 60° above horizontal. The
CN Series is ideal for lighting large sports fields, building facades and signs.

Micro Flood-Wide
NSW Series (Page 109)
For floodlighting applications that require extra-wide lateral distribution, the NSW
Series fixture is installed from a 15- to 25-degree tilt above horizontal to prevent glare
and ensure optimal performance. The NSW is ideally suited for roadway applications,
parking areas or security.

Cutoff Floodlight Optics
Micro Flood-Cutoff
NSC Series (Page 108)
The NSC Series produces narrow vertical and wide horizontal distribution and
typically is installed with a 45- to 60-degree tilt-angle. The optical system is designed
with sharp cutoff to reduce glare for pedestrians and vehicular traffic. The NSC is
designed to work optimally in parking lot and outdoor sports area.

Cutoff Floodlight
CF Series (Page 116)
This cutoff luminaire has an optical system specifically designed to assure maximum
main beam projection, while minimizing glare and spill light. It is generally positioned
with a 15 to 25° tilt above horizontal. The CF Series can be used for parking lots, auto
sales lots, volleyball courts and tennis courts.

Parabolic Floodlight Optics
Micro Medium/Narrow Axial Parabolic Flood
NSM and NSN Series (Page 110)
Featuring axially symmetric parabolic reflectors with centered lamps, these additions to the Parabolic Floodlight line are available with two light distributions. Medium parabolic
(NSM Series) produces a moderately tight beam of light. Narrow parabolic (NSN Series) features a tight, high-precision beam. The NSM and NSN Series are excellent choices for
lighting tall, narrow subjects such as flagpoles, steeples, columns and signs.

Mini Medium/Narrow Axial Lamp Parabolic Flood
MAM and MAN Series (Page 120)
Two light-distribution systems are offered in these 12-inch fixtures that feature axially symmetric parabolic reflectors with centered lamps. The MAM offers medium distribution; the
MAN features a narrow beam. The MAM and MAN Series are ideal for lighting tall, narrow subjects, including flag poles, signs, and architectural details.

Parabolic Medium and Narrow Floodlights
PM and PN Series (Pages 118–119)
The smooth aluminum reflector of both the Medium and the Narrow optics have the same shape. The difference in their performance is achieved by varying the reflector material.
The Medium Parabolic Floodlight uses a diffuse reflector; the Narrow Parabolic Floodlight uses a bright anodized reflector. The PM and PN Series are ideal for illuminating tall,
narrow subjects such as flagpoles, steeples, columns and signs.
