An efficient and versatile alternative over other fluorescent High Bay lighting products.
The four-lamp H Series fixture is offered with either T5HO or T8 lamps and a choice of
six optical system configurations in either narrow, medium or wide light distributions.
The low profile high bay measures 49.25 inches (1252 mm) long by 21 inches
(533 mm) wide by 3.5 inches (88 mm) high.
The Linear Fluorescent High Bay is a great choice for not only warehouse and
industrial applications but also is a very attractive and efficient choice for
commercial/retail projects.
Housing
The die-formed steel housing is
standard with our exclusive DeltaGuard
®
finish featuring an ultra-durable, white

Housings
Two factors that most
seriously affect the life of a
luminaire’s electrical
components are heat and
corrosion. Ruud
®
housings
are constructed from die-cast
aluminum, which allows
greater heat dissipation and
provides greater corrosion
resistance. To improve heat
dissipation and resistance to
corrosion, an ultra-durable
powder coat finish is applied
to both the inside and outside
surfaces of the housing.
The most significant housing
design characteristic is the
built-in thermal venting
chamber. Cast into the
housing, this chamber
physically separates the
ballast from the more heat
sensitive capacitor and
ignitor, and allows air to
circulate and cool the
electrical components. This
design feature prolongs the
life of the ballast assembly
and allows operation of Ruud
fixtures in higher ambient
temperatures.
Reflector Systems
Whether it’s a high-mount or
low-mount fixture with a
pulse start metal halide,
metal halide or high pressure
sodium lamp, all of our
reflectors are designed for
effective brightness control
and high efficiency. Our
reflector efficiencies are as
high as 96 percent and
generally above 80 percent.
Use of our computer-design
techniques and ultra-efficient
surface finishes allows us to
produce fixtures that provide
optimum efficiencies.
To provide quick and easy
field changes to light
distribution patterns, Ruud
die-cast high-mount fixtures
have adjustable lamp
sockets. This offers great
flexibility for narrow to wide
distribution applications.
Spacing criteria can range
from less than 1:1 to more
than 2:1.

All Ruud High & Low Bay
lights are priced and shipped
complete with HID lamp.
Testing and Certification
Ruud Lighting, like most
manufacturers, invests a
lot of time and money to
obtain UL listings. While
these labels indicate that a
product is in compliance
with basic safety
requirements, they do
not guarantee exceptional
lighting performance. To
arrive at the optimum
performance level, we
contract with independent
photometric laboratories to
test all of our fixtures’
optical systems.
We also subject all our
fixtures to a series of thermal
tests to optimize the design
and ensure product
longevity. After the product is
manufactured, it is computer

Prismatic Reflector luminaires are suited
for a wide variety of industrial as well as
commercial or retail applications.
Especially effective in areas with light
color ceilings, the product’s uplight
reduces the “dark cavity effect"
commonly found with similar
competitive fixtures. A space illuminated

Prismatic Reflector appears
larger than when illuminated by a
conventional high bay.
Reflector
The AP Series reflector measures 16.2
inches in diameter. The clear, acrylic
prismatic reflector provides more than
90 percent efficiency and approximately
15 percent uplight. The 175- and 250-
watt MH fixtures are standard with a
clear, flat acrylic lens enclosure.
Ballast
The sturdy, die-cast aluminum housing,
which encloses the electrical
components, is standard with our
exclusive DeltaGuard
®
finish featuring
an E-coat epoxy primer and white ultra-
durable powder topcoat. Consult factory
for availability of other finish colors. A
thermal chimney in the housing provides
air circulation to cool components,
thereby extending their useful life. High-
power-factor, constant-wattage auto-
transformer ballast options are available

Adjustable Distribution
The adjustable lamp socket allows a

Reflector/Light Distribution
The prismatic reflector of the ZAP Series
produces horizontal, vertical and uplight
illumination with low brightness (glare)
while the fixed-lamp position provides
medium light distribution. The high-
heat, clear acrylic reflector measures
16.2 inches (411 mm) in diameter. Lens
enclosures are available as a factory-
installed option for models up to 250W.
Available enclosures include Acrylic
Drop Prismatic (catalog suffix "A"),

The high-performance optics of our
Glass Prismatic Reflector luminaires are
suited for a wide variety of applications
where heavy concentration of industrial
cutting fluids are used as well as
commercial or retail applications.
Especially effective in areas with light
color ceilings, the product’s uplight
reduces the “dark cavity effect"
commonly found with similar
competitive fixtures. A space illuminated
by a Ruud
®
Prismatic Reflector appears
larger than when illuminated by a
conventional high bay.
Reflector
The APG Series glass reflector
measures 15.8 inches in diameter. The
clear, glass prismatic reflector provides
more than 90 percent efficiency and
approximately 15 percent uplight. The
175- and 250-watt MH fixtures are
standard with a tempered glass lens
enclosure.
Ballast
The sturdy, die-cast aluminum housing,
which encloses the electrical
components, is standard with our
exclusive DeltaGuard
®
finish featuring
an E-coat epoxy primer and white ultra-
durable powder topcoat. Consult factory
for availability of other finish colors.
A thermal chimney in the housing
provides air circulation to cool
components, thereby extending their
useful life. High-power-factor, constant-
wattage autotransformer ballast options
are available in 120, 208, 240, 277,
347 or 480 volts.
High-power-factor CWA quad-volt
(120/208/240/277V) or CWA tri-volt
(120/277/347V) ballasts are standard
with SSB mount.
Lamps
Fixture includes mogul-base lamp;
coated for PSMH* and MH, clear for
HPS. Available in 250, 320, or 400W
PSMH; 175, 250 or 400W MH; 150,
250 or 400W HPS.
*Non-open rated lamps and sockets
supplied when ordering luminaires with
PSMH and a bottom enclosure.

prismatic acrylic reflector provides more

Reflector/Light Distribution
The prismatic reflector of the ZAR Series
produces horizontal, vertical and uplight
illumination with low brightness (glare)
while the fixed-lamp position provides
medium light distribution. The new high
heat, clear acrylic reflector measures
22.25 inches (565 mm) in diameter.
Lens enclosures are available as a
factory-installed option for all models.
Available enclosures include Prismatic
Drop Acrylic Lens (catalog suffix “A"),
Acrylic Conical (catalog suffix “Y") and
Flat Acrylic (catalog suffix “E") styles.
Housing
The durable, steel housing is standard
with our exclusive DeltaGuard
®
finish,
featuring an E-coat epoxy primer and
white ultra-durable powder topcoat. This
finish also coats the inside of the
housing, improving both heat dissipation
and corrosion resistance qualities.
Ballast
All ballasts are high power factor.
Constant wattage autotransformer
(CWA) ballasts are also available for all
lamp types. Hinged Splice Box (HSB)
models are standard with a quad-volt
120/208/240/277V ballast (a tri-volt
120/277/347V ballast is available for
Canada). Please specify voltage for all
Hook, Cord & Plug (HCP) and EZ
Connect models or with any voltage-
specific option (such as fusing).
Lamps
The ZAR Series accommodates coated,
mogul-base 250, 320, or 400W open-
rated*, pulse start metal halide (PSMH)
250- or 400-watt metal halide (MH),
250- or 400-watt high pressure sodium
(HPS) lamps. *Non-open rated lamps
and sockets supplied when ordering
luminaires with PSMH and a lens
enclosure.

Our first fixture, the A Series High Bay
has been the prototype for all our High
& Low Bay products. The state-of-the-
art engineering, tooling, testing and
assembly techniques used in the High
Bay are carried throughout the entire
line. Originally designed as a fixture for
industrial applications, the High Bay is
often specified for commercial and retail
jobs as well. Its flexibility is enhanced
by high-performance optics, field-
adjustable light distribution and many
options and accessories.
Reflector
The A Series hydro-formed aluminum
reflector measures 16.4 inches in
diameter and is designed to control
glare while providing approximately 80
percent efficiency. All 175-watt and 250-
watt MH fixtures are standard with the
EHB-40 tempered-glass lens enclosure.
1000-watt PSMH fixture is standard with
EHB-99 tempered-glass lens enclosure.
Ballast
The sturdy, die-cast aluminum housing,
which encloses the electrical
components, is standard with our
exclusive DeltaGuard
®
finish featuring
an E-coat epoxy primer and white ultra-
durable powder topcoat. Consult factory
for availability of other finish colors. A
thermal chimney in the housing
provides air circulation to cool
components, thereby extending their
useful life. High-power-factor, constant-
wattage auto-transformer ballast options
are available in 120, 208, 240, 277, 347

Reflector/Light Distribution
The bright-dip anodized finish of the ZA
Series reflector assures a high level of
reflectivity, producing efficient light levels
while the fixed-lamp position provides
medium light distribution. The
hydroformed aluminum reflector
measures 16.4 inches (417 mm) in
diameter. With an overall maximum
height of 19.1 inches (485 mm), our ZA
Series has the lowest profile of any
standard high bay luminaire
configuration. A tempered-glass
enclosure (catalog number "EHB-40") is
a field-installed accessor y available for
all wattages (standard on 250W MH).
Housing
The durable steel housing is standard
with our exclusive DeltaGuard
®
finish,
featuring an E-coat epoxy primer and
white ultra-durable powder topcoat.
This finish also coats the inside of the
housing, improving heat dissipation and
corrosion resistance.
Ballast
All ballasts are high power factor.
Constant wattage autotransformer (CWA)
ballasts are also available for all lamp
types. Hinged Splice Box (HSB) models
are standard with a quad-volt
120/208/240/277V ballast (a tri-volt
120/277/347V ballast is available for
Canada). Please specify voltage for all
Hook, Cord & Plug (HCP) and EZ
Connect models or with any voltage-
specific option (such as fusing).
Lamps
The ZA Series accommodates clear,
mogul-base 250-, 320- or 400-watt
open-rated* pulse start metal halide
(PSMH) 250- or 400-watt metal halide
(MH) lamps; 250- or 400-watt high
pressure sodium lamps. Reduced jacket
lamps supplied as noted in ordering
information.
*Open-rated lamps supplied when
ordering luminaires with PSMH.
