MR16
The MR16 tungsten halogen lamp, a mere
2 inches in diameter, has spurred track
manufacturers to develop more compact, less
obtrusive luminaries. Ruud Lighting has
responded with an exciting series of lampholders
featuring the MR16 and MR11 lamps. Choose
from either an external, solid-state power supply
or an integral magnetic transformer that is built
into the housing.

PAR36
Ruud Lighting also offers a series of PAR36
low-voltage lampholders, an excellent choice
where longer throws are required. The traditional
choice for visual display merchandising, the
PAR36 has a shielded filament that practically
eliminates spill light and glare. The PAR36
pinspot lets you highlight small objects or
accentuate details on larger ones. And the PAR36
wide flood allows you to define a progression of
spaces or highlight the texture of a wall surface.

AR111
AR lamps are low-voltage halogen light sources
that produce a very controlled beam of light.
You can expect high center beam
candlepower values, a very smooth even beam
of light, and excellent sharp cutoff. A perfect
choice for retail, atrium and museum spaces.
On a budget.
After considering the higher-priced alternatives,
you’ll often find that your customer’s needs
(and budgets) are best served by incandescent
line-voltage fixtures. These lamps don’t require
transformers or special dimmers, and are a
cost-effective alternative to fluorescent, MH PAR
or low-voltage lamps. The least expensive type
would be the A19/A21 general-purpose lamp,
which is readily available. The R20, BR30, or
BR40 are reflector lamps. Like the A19/A21
lamps, they will produce a soft amber glow with
little to no optical control. For excellent optical
control and a crisp white light, consider PAR20,
30 or 38 halogen lamps. They provide as much
as four times the average maximum candlepower
of standard-reflector or general-purpose lamps
and consume a third fewer watts.

transformers, use a
dimmer rated for
inductive loads. If you
are dimming fixtures
with electronic
transformers, an
electronic dimmer
will provide quieter
operation. Note:
When using electronic
(NELV/Lutron) or
magnetic (NLV/Lutron)
dimmers, you must
provide a neutral
connection.

lamps, the TWW Wall Wash track fixtures are
perfect for wall-washing, sign and display
lighting. A U-shaped double-yoke with two
locking knobs secure aiming angle. The internal

Round Back Cylinders
The Round Back Cylinder comes standard with
an internal baffle in black finish (white baffle
available with white incandescent PAR fixtures).
This classic shape utilizes MR16 lamps,
incandescent PAR lamps, or MH PAR lamps for a
family of choices for all your track lighting needs.
A rounded double-yoke with single locking knob
secures aiming angle.
The MR16 fixture comes standard with a clear
lens which can be field replaced with a lens
accessory. The lens is secured inside the internal
black baffle. The MR16 lamp is held in place by
three clips on interior of the baffle. The baffle is
held inside the track head by two spring clips.
Tool-less relamping is done by pulling out the
baffle and slipping the lamp off the three clips.
The incandescent PAR fixture Accessory Holder
or Barn Doors hold up to one accessory.

Flat Back Cylinders
Another classic shape, the Flat Back Cylinder,
comes standard with an internal step baffle in
black finish (white baffle available with white
incandescent PAR fixtures). This fixture series
utilizes MR16 lamps, incandescent PAR lamps, or
MH PAR lamps for a family of choices for all your
track lighting needs. A U-shaped double-yoke
with single locking knob secures aiming angle.
The MR16 fixture comes standard with a clear
lens which can be field replaced with a lens
accessory. The lens is secured inside the internal
black baffle. The MR16 lamp is held in place by
three clips on interior of the baffle. The baffle is
held inside the track head by two spring clips.
Tool-less relamping is done by pulling out the
baffle and slipping the lamp off the three clips.
The incandescent PAR lamp accessory holder and
barn doors hold up to one accessory.

Low Profile
This lamp-holder utilizes incandescent PAR lamps
and MH PAR lamps. Leave the incandescent PAR
lamp neck visible from the end of the lampholder,
or order the decorative metal collar accessory to
hide the lamp neck. Otherwise, a shroud
accessory is available to cover entire lamp for a
finished appearance. Collar and shroud secure to
lampholder with two internal screws. MH PAR
fixtures come standard with a shroud for better
heat dissipation.

Rectangular Cylinders
As a new addition, the TFP Framing Projector
joins the family of an old Ruud Lighting favorite.
The TFP Series accommodates an MR16
low-voltage lamp, and features an internal
electronic transformer. A U-shaped double yoke
with two locking knobs secures aiming angle.
It comes standard with 4-framing shutters, 1-gobo
holder, 2-beam concentrator templates, and 1-gel
holder. Gobo holder accepts glass or metal media
37.5mm (1.48 in.) in diameter. Lamp focusing is
possible with socket movement within housing,
and is locked in place with exterior thumbscrew.
Tool-less lamp replacement occurs at the top of
the fixture. Gobos and gels not included.
The sister fixture of the Framing Projector, the
TES Series, also accommodates an MR16 lamp
and comes standard with a clear lens which can
be field replaced with a lens or louver accessory.
The lens is secured inside the internal black
baffle. The MR16 lamp is held in place by three
clips on interior of the baffle. The baffle is held
inside the track head by two friction springs.
Tool-less relamping is done by pulling out the
baffle and slipping the lamp off the three clips.

Front-Loading Gimbal Ring
A greatly requested product series, this track head
allows for easy relamping from the front of the
gimbal ring. The fixture utilizes incandescent PAR
lamps or MH PAR lamps. A locking knob secures
aiming angle on the incandescent version, and

Rear-Loading Gimbal Ring
This traditional gimbal ring relamps from the back
of the ring and utilizes an MR16 lamp, a PAR36
lamp, an AR111 lamp (all three with an external
electronic transformer), or an incandescent PAR
lamp for a family of choices for all your track
lighting needs. A U-shaped double-yoke with
tightly riveted pivot-points and an internal spring
washer provide constant tension to secure aiming
position. The MR16 lamp fixture comes standard
with a clear lens which can be field replaced
with a lens or louver accessory, held in place
by a U-clip. Or use the 3 clips (included with
accessory) to secure another lens or louver to the
face of the gimbal.

Micro Cylinder
This cylindrical series has a few grooves for
architectural flare, and utilizes either an MR11
lamp or an MR16 lamp. A single-yoke with
tightening knob secures aiming angle. Tool-less
lamp replacement is easy with a screw-off

Even if two-circuit track is not
specified, do your customers a
favor and recommend it. Two-
circuit track offers you numerous
advantages, such as double the
load capacity. That gives you 40*
amps or 4800* total watts for each
track run, allowing more fixtures
per section (refer to Section XV of
Article 410 and Section II of Article
220 of the 2002 National Electrical
Code for installation, feeder and
load calculations).
*Note: 40A consist of two 20A
feeds on different phases sharing a
common neutral feed line. If both
circuits are on the same phase, the
total load between two circuits is
limited to 20A.
